TREKKING
& HORSEBACK RIDING
 |
| Cotopaxi |
Highland
trekking between 3500 and 4500m is simply a breathtaking natural
experience. At this level, you are hiking across the Páramos
, a high altitude zone of the Ecuadorian Andes with almost
no trees, but rather bushes and tall grasses --the realm of
the Andean condor.
On our
tours, mules or horses transport luggage, and amiable assistents
pitch tents and prepare meals, so you can enjoy the scenic
views at your leisure.
Trekking
tours normally last 3 to 6 days, but can be arranged for longer
and are available for small or large groups. In most cases,
they lead through one
of Ecuador´s many national parks

reserves, for example an adventurous trek around the beautiful
volcano Cotopaxi.
Cultural
encounters with the locals are often a highlight of the voyage.
Many isolated mountain communities have retained traditions
that reach back to pre-Inca times.
Colorful
local dress, houses, and farms dot much of the countryside,
often reaching the fringe of the Paramo.

A
fantastic equine adventure
in the Andes. |
Horseback
riding Since the Spanish Conquest, horses have served an important
role in Ecuador and one truly can't imagine the country without
them.
So, horseback
riding is a growing and popular tourist activity.
To go
on tour on horseback through the Andean landscape really is
an experience like no other! Undoubtedly, there are places
that only horses can travel: through the bushy paramos, along
the deep gorges, across rushing mountain streams and traversing
eroding lava fields.

robust Ecuadorian mountain horses are perfectly suited for
these rugged terrains. And many of our tours require absolutely
no riding experience!
Choose

Trail
or the Pululahua Trail in the crater of Ecuador´s largest
extinct volcano.
Whether
you decide for a day trip or a long trek of two weeks, we
invite you to take part in this backcountry adventure of a
life time.
